Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome!

Thank you for considering our practice for your psychological assessment needs. We understand that choosing the right provider for your evaluation is a significant decision. Our goal is to make this process as clear and straightforward as possible. This page provides detailed information about our services, fees, and next steps, ensuring you have everything you need to move forward with confidence.

  • We specialize in comprehensive psychological testing and assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. Our evaluations are individualized to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring a highly personalized and thorough assessment that provides diagnostic clarity, answers to your important questions, and offers a clear roadmap toward recovery and support.

We also offer collaborative psychological assessment, a unique approach that integrates traditional testing with therapeutic aims. This method not only provides diagnostic clarity but also serves as a brief therapeutic intervention, typically spanning 4-5 sessions. Clients and clinicians work together to make sense of the test results within the context of the client’s life, leading to a deeper self-understanding and promoting meaningful change.

    • Expertise: Our team includes clinicians with extensive clinical experience, trained at top-tier institutions such as Harvard, Brown, Penn, and NYU. They have also trained hundreds of clinical psychologists, ensuring you receive care from highly knowledgeable and skilled professionals.

    • Exclusive, Highly Private Care: Our private-pay, fee-for-service model ensures that your privacy is prioritized at the highest level, allowing for discreet services in a secure and confidential environment. By remaining out-of-network, we eliminate the influence of external entities on your care, enabling a direct and unfiltered relationship between you and your clinician. This approach ensures that every aspect of your assessment is guided solely by our expertise, tailored exclusively to your needs, and unimpeded by third-party restrictions.

    • Assessment Focus: Unlike many providers who offer assessment as one of many services, we specialize exclusively in collaborative psychological testing and assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. This focused expertise allows us to deliver specialized, in-depth evaluations tailored to each client’s unique needs. Our assessments provide diagnostic clarity, answer your most pressing questions, and offer a clear, evidence-based path to recovery and support.

    • Personalized Experience: We provide a level of care that stands out from the often impersonal and cumbersome experience found in large healthcare corporations. With us, you won’t face long wait times or feel like just another number. Instead, we offer highly personalized care, tailored specifically to your assessment needs.

    • Convenient Location: We are located along the Monon Trail in Carmel, Indiana, one mile south of Main Street Carmel and just minutes from Indianapolis.

  • Our assessment process typically involves the following steps:

    • Step 1: Optional Initial Phone Consultation
Start with a complimentary, no-obligation phone consultation to discuss your needs.

    • Step 2: Clinical Interview
An in-depth conversation lasting 60-90 minutes to understand your situation and background.

    • Step 3: Testing Session(s)
Standardized tests are administered to assess your cognitive, social, and emotional strengths, as well as identify areas needing support. Testing typically takes 4-6 hours to complete. Don’t worry—we’ll take breaks as needed, and with our location next to the beautiful Kawachinagano Japanese Garden on the Monon Trail, you can step outside for a peaceful moment in nature.

    • Step 4: Comprehensive Report
We will create a detailed report summarizing test findings, providing an accurate differential diagnosis, clear conceptualization, and evidence-based, personalized recommendations tailored specifically to your needs.

    • Step 5: Feedback Session
A 45-minute meeting to discuss results and outline next steps to ensure your continued care and support.

  • To get the most out of your assessment, it’s helpful to bring any relevant medical records or previous evaluations. Ensure you’re well-rested, and feel free to jot down any questions or concerns you want to discuss during your session. If you’ve been provided with any pre-assessment forms, please complete them beforehand.

You’re also welcome to bring drinks and snacks to your testing appointment to keep yourself comfortable during the session.

  • You can typically expect to receive your assessment results within 2-3 weeks after your testing session. We take great care in analyzing the data and preparing a detailed report to ensure you receive accurate and helpful information.

  • Yes, you are welcome to bring a family member or friend for support during your clinical interview. They can provide valuable input, especially during child or adolescent assessments. However, please be aware that your clinician may ask to speak with you alone for at least part of the session to ensure the most accurate results. Testing sessions are generally conducted one-on-one for the same reason.

  • We require a payment card on file prior to the clinical interview, and you are responsible for full payment at the time of the clinical interview. We will provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  • We offer flexible payment options, including check, credit/debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards.

    • Cancellations or rescheduling require 48 hours’ notice.

    • Changes with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a fee of $250 for clinical interviews and $500 for testing appointments. This reflects a portion of the time reserved for your appointment.

  • If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. We’ll do our best to accommodate your new appointment time and ensure minimal disruption to your assessment process.

  • We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement for our services. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider before your first appointment to clarify your benefits if you plan to seek reimbursement.

  • When speaking with your insurance provider, consider asking the following questions:

    • Does my plan cover out-of-network psychological evaluations?

    • What percentage of the fee will be reimbursed?

    • Is there a deductible I need to meet before coverage begins?

    • What is the process for submitting a superbill for reimbursement?

  • Your privacy is our top priority. We adhere to strict confidentiality standards, ensuring that all of your personal information and assessment results are securely stored and only shared with you. We also comply with all relevant privacy laws and regulations to protect your information and follow rigorous ethical standards in our practice.
